As someone who is new to NFTs, you immediately want to be following the right people to help steer you in the right direction! However, as the NFT space continues to expand, it is easy to get lost in the sea of tweets and voices, especially if you do not know where to start. Having an understanding of the space from multiple angles is important, and in this article, I will be listing 5 personalities who have made an impact in the community so that you can better navigate your time in the NFT space.
So who are they? They are the collectors, the creators, the artists, the developers, the writers, who have helped to shape and drive forward the NFT community. They are the experts, those who made early moves in the NFT space and have since earned newfound reputations, as reflected through their followings and support.
For the benefit of those who are new to the NFT space and want to learn more, below is a list of the helpful resources that have been recognized by the community as important follows. This list will include short profiles that summarise their background and their activity in the space. Keep in touch with them and you will soon find yourself very well acquainted with the NFT world!
Coopahtroopa
Coopahtroopa is full-time in DAOs and a creator who helps to explain the space across a number of mediums including articles, essays, podcasts, and youtube videos. Coopahtroopa is a fantastic resource for learning the complexities of web 3.0 and namely DAOs. He is a contributor to many leading social clubs while also acting as an adviser to a number of NFT projects. Since he entered the scene he has garnered over 86k followers making him an important member of the community to keep up to date with.
Medved
Matt Medved is the CEO and co-founder of nft now, a web 3.0 media company that offers articles, guides, podcasts, and interviews with some of the biggest names in the NFT space. They have helped to bring attention to some of the most important news, collections, and people, all of which are extremely resourceful for newcomers. Matt is an avid collector and fan of the BAYC, even performing as a DJ at the NFT NYC meet-up. Since entering the space he has garnered the support of 69k Twitter followers and continues to grow.
tropoFarmer
tropoFarmer is the co-founder of FUTUREPROOF, a digital web 3.0 media agency that provides newsletters, articles, and coverage of what is occurring in the NFT space. As a team of some of the most innovative thinkers, his platform brings a wealth of value to the NFT world. Renowned for his love of the Bored Ape Yacht Club and notorious for his humor, tropo has garnered 86k followers and is certainly a personality to follow as you make your way into the NFT space.
FEWOCiOUS
Fewocious is an 18-year old NFT artist that has taken the space by storm with his bright and colourful style. From selling out an RTFKT collaboration in minutes to selling his art at the world-renowned Sotheby’s his work has transformed from misunderstood to understood, as he continues to pave the way for creatives in the NFT world. His inspiration extends from his art to the spoken form where he hosts the weekly art podcast ART ART ART. Since entering the space his support has skyrocketed with over 88k followers, making him an extremely important artist to follow!
888
888 is a hugely influential NFT creator, artist, and collector, renowned for his BAYC ape and the 888 innercircle collection. Moreover, he is bringing value through ‘888 the new world’, a platform in which artists can submit their artwork, and have the opportunity to be discovered. Artists on the platform will have dedicated drops to spotlight their work, as well as be supported by the team and advisors, an invaluable source for any creator. Since joining the space early, 888 has established support of over 161k followers, remaining one of the most well-known creators in the space.
There are certainly varying degrees of opinion and agreement regarding where the best knowledge stems from. As always, I encourage you to do your own research to supplement any information that you receive!
