Behind the JPEG: RealMissNFT
The real NFT supporter, who is she and why I think you should get to know her if you don't already!
With a vision of collecting over 1000 NFT’s, RealMissNFT is an integral part of the foundations of the NFT scene, reinforced by her Twitter following nearing 33,000 followers. She is an advocate for expansion in the community and loves to invest in smaller artists, providing a platform for the future biggest names. When she is not collecting, you will find her writing for NFT Plazas, one of the fastest-growing NFT news publications in the scene. With her ambitions centered on creating a close-knit community and inspiring others, she is on track to becoming one of the most influential women in the NFT world. But who is she and what is her story? Find out below in this exclusive interview.
RealMissNFT has invested in hundreds of collections already, just recently investing in the Nyla Collection as depicted in her avatar. The long neck collection was designed by Nyla Hayes, a 12-year old girl bursting with creativity and flair. RealMiss uses her avatar to promote artists who can get the lucky chance to be featured, trickling her exposure down to smaller creators. As RealMiss often explains to her followers, she is not just buying for the sake of buying. She understands that investments are much more intrinsic than this. Rather, she is buying a piece from someone’s life. Art is the journey of the creator’s experimentation, error, love, and passion, all of which are important conditions for RealMiss before investing. With short-term cash grabs becoming more common in the NFT scene, projects are failing to infuse their art with personality and meaningfulness. Perhaps this is why RealMissNFT prefers to invest in smaller artists, helping them to grow and find themselves in the NFT world. Real miss is confident that there will be a shift to 1/1 NFT’s in the near future, something that many artists are pushing for.
MissNFT is renowned for her writing, hosting a collumn for NFT Plazas and further rewarding smaller artists in the series ‘Artist of the week’. In these articles, she takes a deep dive into the creator’s portfolio, outlining their journey as an artist and their future plans. This is a brilliant gateway for smaller artists to get noticed and offers them a chance to showcase their art at the highest level. MissNFT’s commitment to smaller artists throughout this series demonstrates her compassion for others and speaks volumes about her own character- an integral personality for the scene.
With plans of relocating her crypto collection into the Meta Verse, MissNFT’s crypto journey is just getting started. With 6 land plots in Decentraland, she has established an estate, enabling her to kickstart her goal of opening a multidimensional art gallery for the world to view, another way in which she is giving back to the artists. In addition to this, she has a secret project lined up which will be revealed very soon- so stay tuned.
For all the support that MissNFT gives to the community, I think it is time that she receives her own shoutout for bringing such positive energy into the community, inspiring others to pursue their dreams.
Below, MissNFT answered a few of my questions, read on to find out about her background, collection, and future plans!
What inspired you to start collecting in the NFT scene and what was you doing prior to this?
The first day I heard about NFTs was in an art gallery where people were talking about a new movement in art. The people that were there said this was a chance in a lifetime and compared the movement with money and bitcoin. I knew from that moment that I should take a look into it. Before NFTs I was active and working in both healthcare and a call centre. I quit my job to have more time with family and went full-time in NFTs, to this day it was the best decision that I made and I am loving every single moment!
Your weekly column on NFT plazas has sought to expand and encourage the NFT community- what inspired you to pursue this and what are your plans for the future?
My weekly column started with concerns about artists with small accounts. I noticed a lot of struggling artists and decided to support them in my own way. The love coming from this idea kept me going and still I love it very much. My plans for the future are to open a NFT gallery in the virtual world of Decentraland. I have many more exciting plans, some which I can’t share yet, but you should stay tuned!
Throughout your experience in writing about the NFT community, which artist have you gravitated to the most? Who has been your favourite and why?
The artists that I write about all have their own style, story and lessons. For me its very hard to choose one of them as my favorite. My favorite also depends on my mood. I still have a close connection with many of the artists that I have wrote about, and this is something that makes me love what I do.
In a sea of competition, exposure is difficult to receive in the NFT scene, what one piece of advice would you give to someone looking to build their brand or work?
My number one tip for exposure and success is to stay consistent and keep connecting with others. Show the world who you are and stay true to yourself throughout the journey. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions or for help, there will always be someone there to support you with your endavours.
You have your MissNFT gallery releasing soon in decentralland, how did this come about and do you have similar plans for the future?
My gallery idea was born when I visited the world of Decentraland. I was impressed upon the first day I entered and I think when the tech allows people to enter the world in VR mode, the NFT sector will get a signifcant boost. Now already the youth is used to open-world games. Even the youngest of us are playing fortnite or roblox. The next generation is definitly prepared for this!
After collecting 1000 nfts, your goal will be met. Will you continue to collect and do you have plans for your own collection?
After collecting 1000 NFTs I will have to see what I want or can do. Everything moves so fast in this space and I think that I need to keep an open mind and approach for my future. Most improtantly I collect to support the artists that need it, every artists deserves to be seen and I strive to enable this through my collections.
The colour purple is your favourite! Why is it so significant to you?
My favorite color is purple because of the cyberpunk theme. This color speaks to me every time I see it. It’s attractive and looks expensive. It’s royal. Due to these reasons, I have it at the forefront of my theme, and many of my fans associate this with me!
If you had to choose one collectible in your collection to keep, what would it be and why?
To be honest I can’t choose a favorite collectible or artist! They are all unique in their own way and I would be lying if I specifically selcted one! I take an interest in their story, that is why I invest, supporting others is the premise of my platform!
You made it to the end! Thank you for taking the time to read this article and I hope to see you around very soon for the next interview! If you’re a smaller creator- be inspired. I want to see your work and would love to support you so head over to my Twitter for more information: @NFT1nsight
